Finding clothes that are environmentally friendly and affordable can be a challenge. Although many would like to go green while serving their basic fashion needs, they are clueless about where to start. The solution is not beyond reach.

Organic material for clothing, such as organically raised cotton, bamboo, etc., offers an easy alternative to conventionally and synthetically produced material for clothing that may harm the environment. Organically produced material like organic cotton does not use harmful pesticides, insecticides, and herbicides, and hence it poses the least threat to the environment.

So what else do organic, handcrafted clothes bring into our lives that synthetically produced clothes do not?

Organically created clothes are handcrafted by small artisans and skilled workers in developing countries, and as such using them brings the concerns of the economically disadvantaged people into light. Buying and using handmade clothing lets us connect directly to this strata of mankind and in turn influence change for good in our own small way.

Consciously using organic, handcrafted products serves a greater purpose of investing in humanity, in art and the environment in general. This attitude can enrich our lives as well as the lives of the people involved in making the products. This way, we can touch lives, understand the importance of human labor, and feel pride in contributing to the environment and to the society at large. All these aspects are consistent with the long tradition of human interaction that is so relevant to us today as it was in the past.

It is easy to adopt handmade organically produced fair trade clothing like pants, shirts, t-shirts, tops, and shoes that are affordable. This way we can strike a balance between our modern way of living and coming close to nature.
